Reclaim The Streets Cambridge
Cambridge had a Reclaim the Streets party a couple of years ago, where, after a two-hour stroll around nearby roads, we settle down and block off a road for the day and so, instead of it being a conduit for motor cars, it is once again returned to the people!
As were the boys in blue, err, I mean yellow. Waste of taxpayers' money if you ask me- they should just let us get on with it!
There tend to be quite a few children at such events also, so there's plenty of woolly liberal activity to be found, even from people of their age!
Judging by the sign in this driver's window, which you can just make out (click on the photo to enlarge it- as with all of these photos), not everyone seemed to agree with our aims! It was realised that no-one, unusually, had done a banner saying 'Reclaim the Streets' i.e. telling everyone what was happening!
Later, still on the march around town. Later that afternoon, the march settled down and stopped at Mill Road, including the awesome Arjuna shop. Unfortunately I had to sing in Chapel that afternoon (doh!) and it was a bit rainy, so I didn't make it for the party, but I had been the previous year, and that had been good and probably quite similar.
